At Bersoni Custom Drums, I build drums using traditional stave construction, working with a range of hardwoods to shape the sound and appearance of each drum. Timber, shell dimensions, finish and hardware can all be tailored as part of a bespoke build, while the current collection includes drums that are ready to buy.

Stave construction creates a solid, durable shell designed for the demands of regular playing. With proper care, a well-made drum can give years of service.
Servicing
Restore & Refresh
Over time, dirt, wear and damage can affect a drum's appearance and performance. Servicing can include cleaning and polishing, bearing-edge recutting and minor surface repairs, helping to restore an existing drum without replacing it.

I can help design and set up customised rack systems, including full and stealth setups, to make the most of limited stage space and create a more stable, streamlined setup. Please contact me for further information on this service.

Bespoke options currently include choices such as timber, finishes and lug styles. If you have something specific in mind, get in touch to discuss what's possible. I can also reuse suitable hardware from an existing drum on a new Bersoni shell.

I’m Jon, and I run Bersoni Custom Drums from my workshop in Wellington, Somerset.

What began as a personal project during the COVID-19 lockdown, driven by a growing interest in stave drum construction, has developed into a business built around making drums by hand and continually developing my craft.
​
I’ve been a drummer for more than 35 years, and a lifetime of listening to and admiring drummers including John ‘Bonzo’ Bonham, Neil Peart and Mitch Mitchell has inevitably influenced the way I think about drums.
I want Bersoni drums to be more than something that looks good on a stand. They are made to be played, enjoyed and looked after for years to come, with the potential to become part of a musician’s musical heritage. I’m fortunate to be doing something I love, and I enjoy working with musicians to create drums that are genuinely individual to them.
